Sometimes I spend hours on one post.  Perfection is a must.  Sometimes I just want to write and embrace imperfection.  I love Five Minute Fridays.  The challenge is to focus on a one word prompt and to limit myself to only five minutes with no major editing.

This week the prompt is writer.

Set the timer…ready…set…GO!

Writer

Being a writer comes with responsibility.  A writer can speak life into hearts or can cause death.

“Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.” Proverbs 16:24

Words matter!

Through the years I have learned that words can cause great pain or they can bring healing, hope, and encouragement.

One of my spiritual gifts is to be an encourager, and my love language is words of affirmation.  I am a writer.  Having these insights into who I am helps me to know how I can serve.

I was made in my Father’s imagine.  He is the Author and Perfecter of my faith.  He relates to His children through the written word.  He used His words to speak life into existence and to bring healing.  He has written His story on my heart.

I want to be a reflection of the my Father. May the words I write glorify Him.

Five minutes…Stop….

I absolutely love the idea of writing as an expression of the spiritual gift of encouragement. It’s one of my top gifts, too. I’d be curious to see how many other writers score high in that area. Thanks for sharing!

Isn’t the Father amazing how He gifts each of us uniquely so that we may glorify Him! We are made in His imagine…the artist, the musician, the decorator, the writer, the scientist, the doctor, the teacher…we all are reflections of Him. I create because he creates. Blessings.

HE is the writer, we are the pens ;). So often I try to take over his job ;). I love the Toby Mac song about speaking life–it’s my new motto. Cheering you on from the five-minute Friday line up!
