Five Minute Friday.  Hundreds of bloggers.  One word prompt.  Five minutes of unbridled writing.  A Twitter party.  A link-up.

This week we are writing on the word: Messenger

Ready…Set…Go…

Messenger

Routine.  P.J.’s. Brush teeth.

My husband tucks in the boy;I the girl.

A chapter of Junie B. Jones.

Prayers. A kiss on the forehead. “Good night, Angel.”

Tight hugs in attempt to hold me hostage. A tickle of the ribs to escape.

Lights out. Door shut.

Sigh.  My day is over.  Peace and quiet.

NO MORE WORDS!

Then my husband and I stare at each other in silence.  We start talking about the kids.  As much as we need a break, we love them with deep admiration of the people they are becoming.

Our little angels.

The word angel literally means “messenger”.

They speak such truth and love into our lives.  They show us both our strengths and our weaknesses.  They help us to understand sacrifice and endurance.

They are our mirrors.

They are His mouthpiece.

Stop. Time is up.

I LOOOOOVE how simply and clean this post is. Haven’t looked at your other posts yet, but I admire how clear and concise your thoughts are. I feel sometimes like my thoughts happen all at once in my mind.

    Beautiful….They ARE HIS mouthpiece indeed.

Ah! Thank you! Sometimes…most times my words are not as clear. I was especially inspired by this prompt. Thank you for your encouragement.

How precious!! So innocent and unfiltered…these little messengers manage to teach us. And of course, sometimes those lessons are highly entertaining due to the aforementioned “unfilteredness”. 🙂

Sweet message of how our kids change us and teach us.

Oh so true!! How many times did I hear the voice of God through my babies…sometimes I still do even though they are all grown up. Great post, Jen!

Kids really are the ultimate messenger, especially when they are still young. Their love is so sweet. Their methods so sincere so simple. It’s too bad we can’t stay like that forever. Bless you!
