Good morning, Friend.

Hope you have something warm in your mug on this cool Fall morning.  I have a cup of Green Mountain English Toffee (love my k-cups!) with cream and a little homemade salted caramel.  My cousin gave me a jar and the recipe.  I will have to try it to make it myself.  Of course I will let you know how that goes.

Speaking of projects, I am so proud of my family command center.  I am blessed to live in a cozy house, and by cozy I mean little.  So there isn’t much room for a lot of extra furniture.  I have to have multiple uses for each space if possible.

Now that my daughter has started school, she needs a place to do her homework.  So we have transitioned from kiddie table and chairs to a desk.  This is in the small space between my kitchen and dining room.

Here is the before and after:Family Command Center Remodel1

It was relatively inexpensive.  I bought some things from Hobby Lobby either on discount or with a 40% off coupon.  The desk I bought from a friend who has a booth at a flea market.  I already had a stool so I painted it to match.  The lamp was from my bedroom.  It just looked better here.  The frame was from my bathroom.  I took the painting out of it and then added some burlap to the backing. And there you have it!

This picture gives a good perspective of how small of a space we are talking.

So what are you working on?  Do you have any cool projects complete or ongoing?  Oh, please share!  Feel free to post links.  I want to know what you are up to!

I agree! That is too cute! I may switch out the burlap for the chicken wire.
