I met Jennifer Kostick of A Girl on the Doorstep online through the Psalms Series that I participated in on Deep Breaths. At the end of the series, as part of the celebration, each of the contributors shared something in our own lives that we were celebrating. I learned that Jennifer’s first book was being released. What an accomplishment indeed! Jennifer offered to host a giveaway on my blog. How generous!

Reflections in the Night: Shadows and Light
“He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection. Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night…” Psalm 91:4-5a
One night from a deep sleep, I was awoken by bright light. Standing at the doorway of my bedroom was my two-year-old son with his hand on the light switch. I told him to turn off the light and crawl in bed with me. He snuggled up close and whispered in my ear, “I scared of da shadows.”
Digging Into the Word {Issue 1: Pride}
“When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.” Proverbs 11:2
If we are all honest, we would admit that we struggle with the issue of pride in one way or another. As I have walked through Beth Moore’s book Praying God’s Word: Breaking Free from Spriritual Strongholds, I have learned so much about pride.
Popcorn on My Breath

You know the book…What to Expect…well yeah… When my water broke an entire month early, my very first thought was “But I haven’t finished the book! The chapters on labor and delivery would be helpful right about now.” Three hours later I was holding my miracle.
