It was Kid’s night at Flying Burrito. Two free kids meals with the purchase of one adult entrée. My family of four can eat for less than $10! Naturally the restaurant was bursting at the seams with young families. Really…how can you pass up such a great deal?

The Great Passion Play
One of my first memories of Northwest Arkansas was visiting Eureka Springs as a child to attend The Great Passion Play. I remember the awe I felt as the stories of Jesus leapt off of the pages of the Bible and came to life.
NWA Women Living in Faith Bible Study
I am excited to announce the kick-off for the next Women Living in Faith Bible study on September 11th! We will be meeting from 8:00-10:00 on Thursday evenings to study Beth Moore’s book David, Seeking a Heart Like His. This is open to all women in Northwest Arkansas.
Five Minute Friday: Fill
I have been so encouraged by the brave leadership of Lisa-Jo Baker. For the past four years she has hosted Five Minute Fridays. She has passed the baton to the amazing Kate Motaung. So excited for this next chapter of Five Minute Fridays!
Solving an Identity Crisis Through Captivating Heart
My sweet friend, Jamie Smith, is guest posting today. I met Jamie years ago at a scrapbooking crop night before I even knew what a blog was. We have became friends through our local bloggers’ meet-ups. She is truly a fascinating person!
Currently {Issue 4} I am Back!
Ah, Friend, I have missed you dearly! I have been on a hiatus for most of July. Being a teacher, I function best on the school calendar. I NEED MY SUMMER BREAKS! But I have to tell you, this break has just about killed me. To withhold myself from getting behind this screen and letting my fingers dance, is like trying to breathe under water.
Nothing But to Hold But Hope: Review and Giveaway
I met Jennifer Kostick of A Girl on the Doorstep online through the Psalms Series that I participated in on Deep Breaths. At the end of the series, as part of the celebration, each of the contributors shared something in our own lives that we were celebrating. I learned that Jennifer’s first book was being released. What an accomplishment indeed! Jennifer offered to host a giveaway on my blog. How generous!
Reflections in the Night: Shadows and Light
“He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection. Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night…” Psalm 91:4-5a
One night from a deep sleep, I was awoken by bright light. Standing at the doorway of my bedroom was my two-year-old son with his hand on the light switch. I told him to turn off the light and crawl in bed with me. He snuggled up close and whispered in my ear, “I scared of da shadows.”
Guest Posting on Deep Breaths
I “met” Katie Reid of Deep Breaths though the community of writers who participate in Five Minute Fridays with Lisa-Jo Baker. It has been a blessing to “get to know” this fellow blogger through Twitter and Facebook. She truly has a passion for the Word of God and to help women ground themselves in His Truth.
Proverbs 31 Woman with a Martha Mentality
“Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.” Luke 10:41-42
I have felt so torn lately. So many plates to spin. I have various areas of ministry I am involved in along with responsibility of being a homemaker, daughter, mother, and wife. I see other women who accomplish so much and think, “When do they have time to surf Pinterest too?” Anytime I stop focusing on one aspect, another falls apart; hence the pile of clothes in the laundry room. Sometimes I get caught up in trying to be a Proverbs 31 Woman with a Martha Mentality.
